Neighbors and Big Buddy proudly announce success with two summer projects: Level Up! and Lemonade Day! Both programs teach valuable life and business skills which impact the success youth experience as they develop into adulthood.
Big Buddy’s Level Up! is a work skills development program for youth in grades 9th- 12th. Students intern at host sites for 20 hours a week as well as attend Tool Time Workshops each week. Tool Times are aimed at teaching the interns life tools such as business acumen, punctuality, proper attire and financial management. Neighbors provided financial education and money management education and resources to the group, answered questions on financial institutions, and took the mystery out of opening and maintaining accounts.
Neighbors is a proud sponsor of Lemonade Day, which is a nation-wide event that teaches kids entrepreneurial skills that they will need to be successful in the future. Youth learn to set goals, develop a business plan, establish a budget, seek investors, provide customer service and give back to the community through the program. Big Buddy’s Lemonade Day entrepreneurs celebrated their success with Neighbors and Raising Canes at the Goodwood branch. Eleven new accounts were opened and the remaining youth entrepreneurs made deposits in their savings accounts.
