Assistant Branch Manager

Position Location: Goodwood Branch
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for developing a sales and service culture. Provide assistance and support to the Branch Manager to insure the efficient operation of the branch. Assist in providing and maintaining professional and quality service. Enforce with staff the need for a high level of security. Responsible for the supervision of employees within the specified area of emphasis, either Tellers; Member Service Officers or Financial Service Officers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Represent the credit union to members in a courteous, professional manner. Provide prompt, efficient and accurate service in processing transactions.
2. Maintain knowledge of all credit union services to support cross-selling to all members.
3. Ensure members are received in person or by phone, nature of business is determined, requests are handled, or referrals are made to the appropriate departments.
4. Serve as a sales coach by observing, coaching and providing feedback to branch personnel with focus on Financial Service Officers.
5. Create a sales friendly environment that encourages and sets forth expectations for business development and the sale of insurance products, which includes but is not limited to credit insurance, mechanical repair coverage and GAP insurance.
6. Assist in the opening and closing of the branch as needed.
7. Provide training, assistance, and supervision to department personnel as needed.
8. Conduct evaluations and corrective actions.
9. Serve as backup to the Tellers and Financial Service Officers as needed.
10. Assist with balancing of the ATM, the vault, order cash, receive cash shipments, open and close the building, night drop, ATM deposits, and load and unload cash dispenser, etc.
11. Hold regular meetings with the branch staff to communicate policy, procedure and security changes.
12. Assist in maintaining daily logs and safe deposit forms.
13. Promote a positive image of the credit union by assuring the branch is neat and clean at all times.
14. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to count and deal with numbers and details effectively.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate orally, in writing, and by phone.
- Ability to deal with members effectively (friendliness, tact and diplomacy).
- Ability to work effectively with people.
- Ability to supervise and direct staff members to complete tasks and serve members.
- Ability to learn, apply and communicate knowledge of loan policies and documentation.
- Ability to learn, apply and communicate knowledge of credit union products and services.
- Ability to input and retrieve data from computer.
- Ability to type accurately.
- Ability to compose letters and memorandum.
- Ability to use and learn office machines (i.e., calculator, copier, fax, terminals, cash dispenser).
- Ability to navigate through Microsoft Office products.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree or some college coursework completed preferred. Two to three years' credit union experience or related field. Previous sales experience preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Must be eligible to be licensed to sell all insurance products and receive MLO#.

$41,340 - $51,675 DOE
FLSA Status: Exempt
