Full Time Teller

POSITION SUMMARY
 
Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, provides a variety of service functions directly to the members in person or by mail. Process deposits, transfers, withdrawals, loan payments, Visa cash advances, gift cards, money orders, certified and travelers checks. Responsible for balancing each day's transactions and verifying cash totals. Maintain a working knowledge of credit union products and services. Support a sales and service culture.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 
1.      Represent the credit union to members in a courteous, professional manner. 
 
2.      Provide prompt, efficient and accurate service in processing transactions.
 
3.      Maintain knowledge of all credit union services to support cross-selling to all
members.
 
4.      Receive members in person or by phone, determine nature of business, handle request(s), or
refer to appropriate department.
 
5.      Provide routine information in person or by phone, concerning credit union services or policy. 
 
6.      Process member transactions accurately.
 
7.      Process Visa cash advances.
 
8.      Prepare and disburse money orders, gift cards, travelers checks, and official checks.
 
9.      Follow procedure for allowing members into their safety deposit boxes.
 
10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

-           Ability to input and retrieve data from computer.
-           Ability to discern currency and coin.
-           Ability to use a calculator and cash dispenser.
-           Ability to use and learn office machines (i.e., copier, fax, terminals).
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 
High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree or some college coursework completed preferred. At least one year of cash handling experience required; at least three years prior experience in a financial institution preferred.

$12/hour
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 - 5 PM, 9-12 Saturdays
Reports to: AVP, Branch Manager
