Protect Your Account This Holiday Season

Let’s talk about fraud.

Each year during the holiday season all financial institutions experience increased fraud, and this year is no exception.

Criminals use a variety of scams to try and gain their victim’s confidence and get them to divulge sensitive information. But the easiest way to protect yourself is by not giving your banking information to anyone you didn’t call.

We suspect this type of scam will be very frequent this Holiday season.

Please take these three steps to protect your money from fraud when receiving calls – even if they’re seemingly from a trusted financial institution:

  1. Please weary of phone calls or text messages from scammers that are phishing for information to access your debit card, credit card, or online banking login information.
  2. know that Neighbors Federal Credit Union will NEVER reach out and ask for this information.
  3. If you get a call from someone claiming to be a representative of Neighbors, please hang up and call us directly at 225-819-2178.

There are many other ways scammers can get to you, but this is one simple solution to prevent a large number of these scams!
